Westerly just had to get some quality time with this sweet baby Sphynx! Hairless cats actually aren’t completely hairless! They have a fine peach fuzz that makes their skin feel soft like velvet. Hairless cats are prone to the elements and require dedicated owners to care for their skin. ... See MoreSee Less

Great teamwork, everyone!Sometimes it takes a village...

Shout out to City of Long Beach Animal Care Services, Officer Rich Armond of Long Beach Police Department (CA), Alexandra of Belmont Shore Veterinary Hospital, the caring staff from The Local Spot Cafe, and several anonymous bystanders that assisted with the rescue of 4 baby ducks in a storm drain.

When some of her ducklings took a wrong turn and found themselves lost in a storm drain, momma duck could hear their cries through the grating. Unable to get to them, all parties chipped in to rescue these little cuties. Great job! 👍🦆

Pet Health Insurance

At Belmont Shore Veterinary Hospital we encourage our clients to research the benefits of pet insurance. Most companies offer a wide variety of plans that can be worked into any monthly budget. Some families opt for a wellness plan to help cover the cost of routine care such as vaccines, dental cleanings, and laboratory work. Others prefer plans that limit coverage to emergencies, accidents, and illness. An unexpected illness or medical emergency can be a very stressful time for any family, and pet insurance can help you focus on what’s most important – your pet’s health – rather than worrying about how you are going to pay for his or her care.

Although we will be happy to work with any pet insurance company you choose for your pet, we are often asked to make a recommendation. After interviewing the top insurance companies and taking our clients feedback into account, we recommend Pets Best insurance to our clients. We have included their contact information for your convenience. Please take the time to speak with their trained representatives to find the plan that works best for you and your pet!
