We now offer Puppy Socialization classes with our Certified Dog Obedience Trainer. Socialization is introducing
your puppy to a broad range of new experiences, people, environments and activities.
REQUIREMENTS:

Puppies must be between 8 and 20 weeks old when they begin class
-
Must have their first round of DHPP and Bordetella (does not need to done at BSVH)
-
Must have a negative fecal result
-
Must have an initial exam with one of our doctors
-
Deworming within 1 week before starting class
ITEMS TO BRING:
-
small treats for good behavior
-
leash and collar (required at all times)

positive attitude and enthusiasm :)

4:30 pm Greeting/ Check-in
- Introductions: Owner’s names and pet’s names!
- Go over class rules and agenda
- Pass out Handouts briefly go over topics
- Overview of puppy socialization and goals
4:50 pm Puppy Interaction/ Hospital Tour
- A tour and explore as a group; lobby, exam rooms, hallway,
reception and possibly lounge
- Puppies allowed to sniff and explore each other appropriately
5:10 pm Socialization Stations
1. Reception - Socialization Mini-Obstacle Course
2. Lobby scale - Learn to sit/stand on scale
3. Hallway - Practice “come” or learn “name”
4. Exam Room - Puppies experience the exam room table and
being handled
5:30 pm Questions
- Answer any basic training questions
- Can submit written questions to be answered later
